Kayla, owner and founder of Solace, received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina in 2013 and has maintained good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
With various experiences including supporting survivors of sexual assault and sexual violence, frontline crisis support, advocacy and intervention, Kayla is passionate about providing a safe space to those she works with. Upon graduating, Kayla began working with marginalized youth and adults in an inner city setting, which inspired her dedication to helping individuals and families access mental health supports, health care, and treatment, while addressing basic needs barrier-free.
With various experiences in the health care system, transitional housing, and correctional centres, Kayla recognizes the importance of ensuring that people feel respected, heard, supported and understood.
Kayla is especially passionate about supporting those who have experienced various forms of trauma and stress, generational trauma, violence, addiction, burn out and involvement with various systems. By eliminating barriers to basic well-being, she believes that safety, healing, balance, and happiness can be restored in people’s lives.
Through Solace, Kayla brings this philosophy to life by offering a trauma-informed, culturally safe, and welcoming environment where individuals and families can pursue gentle, intentional healing and work toward their own goals.
